China Plated Walls

We've got a bare spot above our piano where I'm planning to hang some plates [as soon as I can sneak them out of my mom's cupboard], so I was looking around for a little inspiration. Hanging plates on a wall can add such a beautiful architectural element...done right, it's like a sculpture...

A Martha Halloween

I was looking for ideas for carving our pumpkin and saw so many great images and ideas over on Martha's website. She's covered everything -- from costumes to pumpkins to treats. If I hadn't just had a baby, I'd be seriously tempted to try some of these out...

A Whole New World

Pink is a new color in our house, and it makes me smile when I see it peaking out of the laundry. Baby girl still wears her share of blue, but we are slowly stocking up on girl clothes...like this adorable outfit from BabyGap that a sweet little 7-yr-old girl picked out for her:

Baby girl also received her first doll from my mom:

Not to worry, though -- nothing is too precious around here -- it didn't take long for the box to be decorated with a multi-eyed alien in the midst of battle!

Baby Books

So, I love this baby book by Binth, however I'm not so in love with the $110 price tag. I mean, I get it -- it's a beautiful, quality, handcrafted product -- I personally just don't want to spend that much on a baby book. Have any of you out there found a baby book that you love that doesn't have such a hefty price tag? I've contemplated designing my own and having it printed through Blurb, problem is I just don't have a lot of extra time at the moment...I still might do it, though, if I can't find anything else...

Weezie's Curtains

Weez got some new curtains for her basement apartment! I'm constantly amazed at how she transforms this space -- she has no architecture to help her out and little windows, but she manages to make the space warm and inviting.

Plus, I'm jealous of her curtain rods...we've got temporary solutions up in our house until we can splurge on some nice ones! Unfortunately, I think that may be a while...our fridge sounds like a jackhammer...not good...I'm just waiting for it to die...

Nesting

The day before I went into labor, I was in a serious nesting mode. Maybe I should've known! I started in the boys room, and finally have some before and after pictures to share...

Not Another One...

Please say it's not true...there is already a hole on my side table where Domino belongs, but now those meanies at Conde Nast are closing Cookie magazine. I always looked forward to the mix of style, stories, product reviews and recipes in this magazine, plus the layout design was one of my favorites. Now I have to deal with 2 holes on my side table...

Her Eyes

Since they are rarely open during the day [and more so at night!], we get so excited when she opens her eyes and yell out "eyes!!" so everyone can run over and see. Still don't know what color they will be -- I forget when it is that that happens...
