Pong
So, we're in the market for a ping pong table, and I came across one on Style Me Pretty that I love -- it's yellow! I've never seen a yellow one before. I'll bet it's perfectly suited for a mean game of pong.
Hope you have a great weekend -- we should hit the beach at some point if we can get our act together!

Glam Diaper Duty
Who knew that diaper changing could be glamorous? Here's proof that, yes, it can! The delicious, white and metal console, sisal rug, textured wallpaper, and is that light fixture woven? -- it's stunning. Really, truly, I wish I could transport it all straight into my house.

Chance It
Check out this fun installation by Cheree Berry Paper for Kate Spade // The store's entryway is lined with envelopes containing cards printed with a spirited chance, as they say, such as "smile at a stranger" or "crash a party." I like interactive installations, and this one in particular because it has a fortune cookie-like fun to it. One of my favorite parts? The one envelope outside the grid labeled "extra risky." Ooh-la-la!

Have a Coke and a Smile
I grew up in Atlanta, where my aunt asked me one morning "if I wanted a Coke for breakfast."[remember the old commercial with the song "I want a Coke in the morning!"?]
It's also where my wool-suit-and-hose wearing grandmother would have a Coke in the bottle everyday for lunch. [which probably consisted of a Tomato or Pimento Cheese sandwich]
When we'd get sick, the first [and arguably the best] remedy was a Coke. [even still when I had morning sickness and was talking to my parents on the phone, the first thing my dad said was "you know, the best thing for that is a good ole Co-cola]
When New Coke came out, we boycotted the soft drink aisle. [really, what were they thinking?]
The World of Coke would come set up once a year in my school cafeteria, so we could taste Coke that was sold in China and Mexico.
And, when I went to camp in North Carolina, I couldn't figure out who had played the nasty trick of stealing the Coke machine and replacing it with a Pepsi one. And what the H is Cheerwine? [I actually came to like Cheerwine over the course of the 3 weeks- It's not like I was going to drink a Pepsi!]
I generally drink water, but on the occasion when I want something else, there's nothing quite as refreshing as an ice cold Coke [in a glass bottle, mind you], especially during the long, hot summer. How about you? Do you vote Coke or Pepsi?

Strollers // Buggies // Klapvogne
Alright, friends, I need your advice. I'm on the hunt for a lightweight stroller to use strolling around the streets of the world's happiest country. Below are the three that I'm considering:
[#1 [left] is the Cybex Onyx; #2 [center] is the Mutsy easyrider; #3 [right] is the Maclaren Triumph]
I'm going to be honest with you -- I'd buy that Mutsy in a second if I could find a white one anywhere in the US. All I can find is Navy or Red, which I know would make more sense, what with all the various goo and gunk that will surely land on it's surface, but that white is singing it's siren song to me and I can't help it. The Maclaren is tried and true, but it sure seems dinky next to the other two. Plus, the other two have gotten fantastic reviews online. They are all about the same price [around $150] and have similar features. The biggest thing for me [and the reason I'm not looking at less expensive models] is a reclining, comfortable seat for naps on the go.
If any of you have had any experience with one of them, or know of one I'm missing, please let me know!

Pallet
Well, friends, what a week. Things get a little intense when Ben goes out of town; throw on top of that a sick kid and it's downright exhausting. He's back now, and I have every mind to round up all the blankets and pillows in our house and make a gigantic pallet on the floor, stay in there all weekend, and read magazines and eat Twizzlers [and if I had some of those adorable striped socks, I'd wear those on too!].
P.S. do all of you know what a "pallet" is? Someone told me once that that word "must be a Southern thing?"

Little Peeps in the Big World
I got my Monday morning started off right by clicking over to this site. A site showcasing "little handpainted people, left in London to fend for themselves" by Slinkachu, a UK based artist. Seriously, some of them were making me laugh out loud, like this one:
There's also a book if you can't get enough of these clever little scenes!

Inspired By [Summer]
Sleeping in [as in not having to get a child to school by 7:35 AM], cooking out, sleepovers, wearing bathing suits all day, tents and sleeping bags, smores [the boys even invented their own version called "barf your face off smores," which translates "stack as many candy bars and marshmallows you can and then eat as much as you can until you barf." Charming, no?]...there's a lot to be said for summertime. What's your favorite part?

Office Space
I love seeing the space that other people work in. Design Sponge just posted their best of: Offices, and they've got some wonderful things going on. There should be a poster like the one in the image above hanging in every office across America. Work hard and be nice to people. Two simple things that make the world a better place.
One thing that always amazes me is when I see a desk that doesn't have a gazillion little scraps of paper all over it [like the one below, which is beautiful]. Where might the person who works here jot down all his or her random ideas? Or measurements they need to remember? Really, if you know and can pass the secret onto me, I [and my husband] will be grateful. Some of my best ideas have been written on a torn out magazine page corner or old grocery list. And then they end up in little piles. All over my desk.

For Little Heads
Honestly. I don't know what else to say about these charming hairpins from Smallable. And while you're there checking them out, you'll probably get sucked into the entire Lale collection. I'm just sayin'...

Hyperactivitypography
This is for all you type lovers out there -- a witty, fun, cleverly illustrated activity book called Hyperactivitypography From A to Z. It includes activities such as What is Garamond Doing?, Typolympics, Miss Univers and Moustaccents to name a few...
And who wouldn't want to know the answer to the question Which Typeface are you?
What would be even more fun is if there were a forum to see other peoples answers. It's temporarily out of print [be sure to join the facebook page to be posted on when it is available!], but you can preview it here.
