The Invites

Here's a glimpse at the Inauguration invitations for those who are curious what they looked like. An elegant and traditional invitation, although this time around, the invites were printed on recycled paper at an FSC certified union print shop. The printer is located in Brooklyn, NY, and had less than a month to get one million engraved invitations printed up.

Each invitation had to make three passes -- one for the gold ink, one for the black ink, and a third time because the gold seal was burnished [that's 3 million passes total!]. The typeface used is Shelley Allegro.

They are quite handsome, a lovely mix of the traditional and the modern.
